Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Assistant Bar and Restaurant Manager to support the smooth operation of our establishment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for hospitality, and a comprehensive understanding of food and beverage service. This role involves supervising staff, ensuring excellent customer experiences, and maintaining high standards of food safety and quality. The successful applicant will play a vital part in fostering a welcoming environment while managing daily operations efficiently.

Responsibilities

Assist the Restaurant Manager in overseeing daily operations of the bar and restaurant
Supervise and support team members, including serving staff, bartenders, and kitchen personnel
Ensure high standards of food preparation, presentation, and service are maintained at all times
Oversee food safety protocols and ensure compliance with health regulations
Manage stock levels, ordering supplies as needed to ensure smooth service
Assist in training new staff members and providing ongoing development for existing team members
Handle customer enquiries and resolve any issues promptly to guarantee customer satisfaction
Support in organising events or special promotions within the venue
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the bar and dining areas

Experience

Proven supervisory experience within a restaurant or hospitality environment
Extensive restaurant experience with knowledge of food production, kitchen procedures, and service standards
Culinary experience or background in food preparation and cooking is highly desirable
Experience in managing teams effectively within a fast-paced setting
Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices in hospitality management
Barista experience or knowledge of bar operations is advantageous
Previous hotel or hospitality experience will be considered an asset
Strong leadership skills combined with excellent communication abilities
