Welcome to The Yacht – an exciting new venture for the East Street Pub Company in the heart of Torquay’s harbourside. A fresh and prestigious venue, The Yacht brings together a unique blend of exceptional drinks, an in-house distillery, and a globally inspired food menu. Designed to offer a premium experience, we aim to set a new standard in hospitality, creating a vibrant destination for both locals and visitors.

Role Overview:
As a Chef, you’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality dishes and supporting the smooth running of the kitchen. Working alongside a supportive team, you’ll prepare fresh food to spec, help maintain hygiene standards, and to keep service running efficiently. This is a great opportunity for someone with kitchen experience looking to grow and progress within a friendly and expanding company.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and cook dishes to a consistent high standard.

Work efficiently during service to maintain smooth kitchen operation.

Support senior chefs with food prep and day-to-day kitchen tasks.

Maintain high food hygiene / cleanliness standards at all times.

Assist with deliveries, stock rotation, and organisation.

Contribute ideas for specials and menu development.

Be a team player and support colleagues to ensure a positive kitchen environment.

What We’re Looking For

• Experience working in a busy kitchen (as a Commis Chef, Line Cook, CDP or similar).

A passion for fresh, quality food and good presentation.

A strong work ethic and willingness to learn and grow.

Good understanding of basic food hygiene and kitchen safety.

Ability to stay calm under pressure and work efficiently during busy periods.

Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends.
