Overview

Accounts Manager – Horseracing Yard

We are looking for an experienced Accounts Manager to join our busy office within a professional horseracing yard.

This is a varied and important role, ideally suited to a qualified bookkeeper or accountant who is organised, self-motivated and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment.

The role will include:

Day-to-day bookkeeping and accounts
Xero (or similar accounting software)
VAT returns and related administration
Payroll, currently using Moneysoft
Managing spreadsheets, reporting and general office administration

We are looking for someone who:

Has strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
Has good experience with Xero or similar
Is confident dealing with VAT and payroll
Is highly organised, reliable and self-motivated
Thrives in a busy, varied working environment
Has a practical, flexible approach and is happy to get involved

The position offers highly flexible working hours, likely to be approximately 12–15 hours per week though could be more. Some of these hours could potentially be worked remotely once the successful candidate is established in the role.

An affinity with horses and horseracing would be an advantage, but is certainly not essential.
