Rhondda Cynon Taf Council is pleased to offer an Independent Reviewing Officer position within Social Services.

Location:-Ty Catrin, Pontypridd

Salary: £49,282

Hours: 37 hours per week

Rhondda Cynon Taf Council is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated social work practitioner to undertake the role of Independent Reviewing Officer (IRO) in our long established and well-regarded Reviewing and Safeguarding Team.

The service currently operates on a hybrid approach with the fixed base in Ty Catrin, Pontypridd.

The ideal candidate will possess highly developed specialist knowledge of social work practice in Children's Services and have experience of chairing meetings of a challenging nature and child protection within the court arena.

We expect our practitioners to have a sound understanding of the practice implications of the Social Services and Wellbeing Act and other relevant legislation, be up to date with emerging issues and have experience of or an interest in working within the relevant discipline. Committed to anti-oppressive practice, successful candidates will bring strong assessment, communication, and planning skills.

We will look to you to manage a defined caseload while building and maintaining links with partner agencies. You must possess a professional recognised Social Work qualification and be expected to be registered and maintain your registration as a 'Social Worker' with Social Care Wales on appointment.

This post requires significant post qualifying experience including that of Experienced Social Worker level. Those applying will need to be prepared to provide evidence at interview of their registration with Social Care Wales and 3 years post qualifying Social Work experience.
