Full job description

Job Summary
Howley Quay Motors LTD is a breakdown recovery specialist operating 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to the public, Cheshire Police, and the National Highways Agency.

We are seeking an experienced 7.5T driver with CPC recovery qualifications to join our team as a result of our recent contract expansion. We are looking for someone who is a team player, professional, and can work on their own initiative. We require the candidate to be ON CALL in the evenings with alternative weekend schedule.

Candidates will receive a standby rate, and a call out rate when ON CALL.

Various shifts available to be discussed at interview.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the recovery of accident/broken down vehicles with a high level of customer service.

Responsibilities & Key Information

Operate flatbed lorries and other commercial vehicles in accordance with road safety regulations and company policies.
Plan routes effectively to ensure timely delivery of goods to multiple locations.
Carry out daily inspections of your vehicle.
Creating job reports & inspecting vehicles to our company standards.
Liaising with the office on job updates/requests.
Be able to Pass Police Vetting checks.

Skills

Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with flatbed vehicles or similar heavy goods vehicles.
Professional and approachable mindset.
Strong driving skills with a clean driving record preferred.
Knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for transporting vehicles safely.
Strong telephone communication skills.
Vehicle knowledge is preferred.
Geographical knowledge is preferred.
