Part-Time Accounts Assistant

Fully in office

Location: Dorking, Surrey

Hours: Part-Time (20-25 hours per week, flexible)

Salary: Pro-rated full time £30,000 pa

Contract Type: Permanent

About Us

Cordell and Co Solicitors is a law firm based in Dorking, Surrey. Due to continued growth, we are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Part-Time Accounts Assistant to join our friendly and professional team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with finance or legal accounts experience who is looking for flexible working hours within a supportive environment.

The Role

Reporting to the Practice Manager, you will assist with the day-to-day financial administration of the firm, ensuring compliance with accounting procedures and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Processing client and office account transactions
Posting receipts, payments and journal entries
Performing daily bank reconciliations
Assisting with invoice preparation and credit control activities
Processing supplier invoices and payments
Supporting month-end and year-end accounting processes
Maintaining accurate financial records and filing systems
Assisting with payroll administration, where required
Ensuring compliance with Solicitors Accounts Rules and internal procedures
Responding to finance-related enquiries from colleagues and suppliers

About You

The ideal candidate will potentially have:

Excellent numerical accuracy and attention to detail
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and accounting software
Strong organisational and time management skills
The ability to work independently and as part of a team
Professional communication skills and a confidential approach to sensitive information

Pay: £30,000.00 per year

Work Location: In person
