Full job description

Health & Safety Advisor - Deeside

Salary: £30,000 – £35,000 per annum, depending on experience
Hours: Initially Monday to Friday, 9.00am – 5.30pm for training, then moving to 2.00pm – 10.30pm, with some flexibility required.

We are looking for a Health & Safety Advisor to provide hands-on health and safety support across our busy onsite operation.

Working closely with the Health & Safety Manager, managers and team leaders, you will help ensure a safe working environment by supporting compliance, carrying out inspections, completing risk assessments, investigating incidents and promoting a positive safety culture across the business.

Key Responsibilities

Provide advice and guidance on health and safety legislation, best practice and company procedures
Carry out risk assessments, site inspections, audits and behavioural observations
Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses, recommending corrective actions
Support safe systems of work across areas such as yard traffic, pedestrian segregation, loading bays, racking, MHE routes, balers/compactors and maintenance tasks
Deliver toolbox talks, inductions and safety briefings
Support contractor control, permits to work, RAMS reviews and safe hand-back processes
Maintain accurate health and safety records and audit evidence
Coach managers and team leaders on safe working practices and compliance

Skills and Experience Required

Previous experience in a health and safety role
NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent, or working towards
Good working knowledge of health and safety legislation
Experience with risk assessments, incident investigations and internal audits
Working knowledge of COSHH, PUWER, LOLER and permit to work processes
Strong communication skills with the confidence to engage employees at all levels
Organised, practical and detail focused
Full UK driving licence
