Full job description

Working within a supply chain logistics company to initially be hands on with support and implementing the digitalization strategy with vendors & partners with the aim to create a fully operational internal IT department to support the business on a 24/7 basis.

Coordinates IT support, training, and orientation for new technology users
Ensures efficient and effective technology and Internet access for the business
Organises troubleshooting or repair when necessary for IT equipment
Oversees information security and maintains network and user security through hardware or software installation or through education
Implements an IT budget for the organisation
Tracks inventory and status for hardware and software throughout an organisation
Establishes relationships with technology vendors & partners
Advises about organisation’s IT equipment, networking, and connectivity needs and purchases products, parts, and services as necessary
Supervises IT department staff, including setting schedules, implementing training, and assessing performance
Works with human resources colleagues to identify staffing needs and participates in the hiring process
Develops & maintains emergency plans for equipment, power, or security failure to preserve technology and data
Researches and stays up-to-date regarding new IT equipment and solutions and advising business on IT strategy
Initially this will be a fully hands on role with a view to it becoming hands off as the department grows

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science and / or a minimum 10 years experience with 3 to 5 years in a IT management role
Experience with the following:

§ EDI integration

§ WMS

§ TMS

§ CRM

§ Databases - SQL Server/Oracle § Microsoft stack – SharePoint, Teams, Office 365

§ VOIP

§ Windows server 2012 / 2014 / 2016

§ Windows 10

§ Crystal reports / SQL – not essential

§ Research and implementation of new systems

§ Creating, implementing and maintaining documentation

Management, Leadership, Staffing, Budgets, Strategic Planning, Problem Solving, Decision Making, Critical Thinking, Written and Verbal Communication, Interpersonal Communication, Teamwork, Attention to Detail, Working Under Pressure.

Experience with the following:
