Full job description

We are a well-established and growing steel fabrication and engineering company looking for an experienced Workshop Manager to lead our production workshop. This hands-on role is ideal for someone with a strong background in steel fabrication and engineering who can drive productivity, quality, and safety while leading a skilled team.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the day-to-day running of the workshop and production schedule.
Lead, motivate, and support the workshop team.
Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, on time, and to the required quality standards.
Coordinate labour, materials, and equipment to meet production deadlines.
Carry out quality checks and resolve production issues.
Maintain Health & Safety compliance and promote best working practices.
Work closely with design, purchasing, and management teams to deliver projects successfully.
Drive continuous improvement in workshop processes and efficiency.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Workshop Manager, Production Supervisor, or similar manufacturing leadership role.
Strong background in steel fabrication, welding, or engineering manufacturing.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
Excellent leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
Good knowledge of production planning, quality control, and Health & Safety.
Eligible to work in the UK and based within 30 miles of PE27.
