Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Health Care Assistant to join our team. This role involves providing high-quality support to individuals in care homes and home care settings, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, and have a genuine desire to make a positive difference in people's lives. Previous experience in care environments is advantageous but not essential, as full training will be provided. This position offers an opportunity to develop your skills within a supportive and professional environment.

Responsibilities

Assist residents with daily activities such as personal care, mobility, and medication reminders
Support the implementation of individualised care plans tailored to each resident’s needs
Maintain accurate records of care provided using app system
Communicate effectively with residents, their families, and the wider care team to ensure coordinated support
Drive or accompany residents to appointments or outings as required
Uphold health and safety standards at all times, ensuring a safe environment for residents and staff
Contribute to creating a warm, respectful, and caring atmosphere within the care setting

Requirements

Valid driving licence is desirable for assisting with transportation needs
Experience working in a care home or home care environment is preferred but not mandatory
Ability to understand and follow care plans accurately
Good IT skills for documentation and communication purposes
Proficiency in English, both written and spoken
Excellent communication skills with the ability to build rapport with residents and colleagues
Compassionate nature with a strong commitment to providing person-centred care
Reliable, organised, and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team

Pay: From £14.00 per hour
