Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Commis Chef (part-time) to join our team.

This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to develop their skills in a professional kitchen environment. The successful candidate will assist in preparing and cooking dishes, ensuring high standards of food quality and safety are maintained. Prior kitchen experience is preferred, but a genuine interest in food preparation and culinary arts is essential. This position is ideal for those eager to gain valuable restaurant experience while working flexible hours.

Duties

Assist in the preparation of ingredients and cooking of dishes according to established recipes and standards
Support the senior kitchen team with meal preparation and plating
Ensure all food safety and hygiene regulations are strictly followed
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of workstations and kitchen equipment
Help with stock rotation, storage, and inventory checks
Contribute to creating a welcoming environment for guests through efficient service and presentation
Support the team during busy service times, including serving customers when required

Skills

Proven experience in food preparation and cooking within a professional setting or similar environment
Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices
Strong organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
Good understanding of meal preparation techniques and culinary processes
Excellent teamwork and communication skills
Previous restaurant experience or serving background is advantageous but not essential
A genuine passion for food, learning, and developing culinary skills
