Job Title: Finance Assistant (Purchase Ledger)

Work Location: Portslade, East Sussex (in person)

Hours: Full time, Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm

Remuneration: £25,000-£33,000 per annum, depending on experience

Job Purpose

We are looking for an organised and detail-oriented Finance Assistant (Purchase Ledger) to join our Finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop a career in finance. The successful candidate will be responsible for processing invoices received from our accommodation providers, ensuring they are accurate and processed in a timely manner.

Working closely with colleagues across the business, you will investigate and resolve invoice queries, including rate increases, additional charges and any differences between supplier invoices and information held within our CRM system. You will build positive working relationships with our accommodation providers, whose first language may not be English. This requires patience, clear communication and a professional approach to resolving queries efficiently.

As part of the Finance team, you will also work closely with the Sales Ledger team and provide support and cover when required. Full training will be provided, making this role suitable for someone with limited finance experience who is keen to learn and develop.

Key Responsibilities

Process invoices from accommodation providers accurately and on time.
Investigate and resolve invoice queries and discrepancies.
Liaise with accommodation providers across Europe and internal departments to ensure invoices are correct.
Maintain accurate financial records and update relevant systems.
Support the Sales Ledger team when required.
Assist with general finance administration and other duties as needed.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who is organised, eager to learn and has a keen eye for detail. You should be comfortable working with numbers, enjoy solving problems and communicate clearly and professionally with colleagues and suppliers. As many of our accommodation providers are based across Europe and English may not be their first language, you'll need to be patient, adaptable and able to communicate in a clear and straightforward manner. Good IT skills, particularly in Excel, are important, and any previous administration or finance experience would be beneficial but is not essential.

This role would suit someone looking to start or develop a career in finance, as full training and ongoing support will be provided.
