Full job description

Job Title: Administrator with site visits
Type: 12 Month Minimum Temporary contract
Location: Barry / Llantwit Major and across the Vale of Glamorgan
Salary: £15.00 - £20 per hour
Hours: 37 hours per week

BRC are working closely with a local organisation to recruit an Accommodation Support Officer (Admin) to join their Temporary Accommodation team on a minimum 12 month contract.

This is a varied role combining administration with property visits, supporting the smooth running of temporary accommodation across the Vale of Glamorgan. The successful candidate will carry out property inspections, complete compliance checks and ensure accommodation is ready for new tenants. As the role involves travelling between sites, applicants must hold a full UK driving licence and be able to travel to the Barry office. A pool car will be provided for work-related travel.

Duties:

Carry out property inspections when accommodation becomes vacant.
Report on the condition of properties and identify any maintenance issues.
Complete fire alarm and other routine property safety checks.
Undertake pre-tenancy property inspections before new tenants move in.
Support the Temporary Accommodation team with administrative duties.
Maintain accurate records and inspection reports.
Travel between properties across the Vale of Glamorgan using a pool vehicle.
Work independently while adhering to lone working procedures.

Requirements:

Previous experience in an administrative or housing support role.
Full UK driving licence and access to transport to commute to the Barry office.
Confident working independently and following lone working procedures.
Good organisational skills with attention to detail.
Ability to produce clear and accurate written reports.
Comfortable visiting properties and working with single male tenants.
Basic understanding of property maintenance or housing inspections would be advantageous.
