About the Role

We are looking for a friendly, motivated and customer-focused Retail Sales Assistant to join our team in Glasgow. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people and wants to develop practical experience in retail sales, customer service, product knowledge and business operations.

Full training and ongoing coaching will be provided, making this role suitable for graduates, career starters and individuals looking to develop their existing customer-facing skills. You will learn how to support customers, understand their requirements, present products and services professionally, maintain high retail standards and contribute to sales objectives.

You will work alongside experienced team members in a supportive and collaborative environment. As your confidence and skills develop, you will have opportunities to take on additional responsibilities and progress towards senior retail, sales, supervisory or management positions.

Key Responsibilities

Welcome customers professionally and provide friendly assistance throughout their visit.
Understand customer requirements and recommend suitable products or services.
Communicate product information clearly and answer customer questions accurately.
Support sales activities and contribute towards individual and team objectives.
Maintain a professional and organised retail environment.
Assist with product displays, stock presentation and general merchandising activities.
Process customer requests and transactions accurately in line with established procedures.
Maintain awareness of product information, promotions and relevant customer offers.
Work closely with colleagues to ensure customers receive a consistent and positive experience.
Participate in training and coaching to develop retail sales, customer service, communication and leadership skills.

Requirements

You should enjoy working with customers and be comfortable learning about products, services and retail procedures. Basic computer literacy, good attention to detail and a professional approach will also be useful.

The role is suitable for graduates, career starters and candidates with transferable experience from customer service, hospitality, administration, sales, events, marketing or other people-focused environments.

Experience

Previous experience in relevant retail sales, customer-facing, administrative, hospitality, sales, marketing, operations, merchandising, or related roles is beneficial but not essential, as full training will be provided.
