Full job description

21 hours per week, 3 x 7 hour shifts.

Job Purpose

To provide a high standard of housekeeping service throughout the dementia care home, ensuring all areas are clean, hygienic, safe, and welcoming for residents, visitors, and staff. The Housekeeper will support the wellbeing and dignity of residents by creating a comfortable environment and working in a compassionate, person-centred manner.

Key Responsibilities

Clean resident bedrooms, bathrooms, communal areas, and other areas of the home to a high standard.
Carry out daily cleaning duties including dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and sanitising surfaces.
Collect, wash, dry, iron, and return residents' clothing and linen.
Maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for residents, visitors, and staff.
Replenish cleaning supplies and report any maintenance or safety concerns.
Follow infection control, health and safety, and COSHH procedures at all times.
Treat residents with dignity, respect, and kindness, understanding the needs of people living with dementia.
Work as part of the care home team and attend training when required.
Report any concerns relating to resident wellbeing, safeguarding, or safety to the appropriate person.
