Full job description

Job Summary

We are looking for a professional, organised, and customer-focused Receptionist to join our friendly team. As the first point of contact for our guests, you will play a key role in delivering an exceptional guest experience, ensuring every stay starts and ends on a positive note.

Working with our portfolio of high-quality self-catering apartments, you will manage guest check-ins and check-outs, respond to enquiries, coordinate bookings across platforms such as Booking.com and Expedia, and support the smooth day-to-day running of our reception and operations.

Previous experience in hospitality, customer service, or reception is preferred, but full training will be provided. We are looking for someone with excellent communication skills, a professional approach, strong attention to detail, and the ability to remain calm and organised in a fast-paced environment.

Duties

Welcome guests in a friendly and professional manner, providing an excellent first impression.
Manage guest check-ins and check-outs efficiently.
Respond promptly to guest enquiries by telephone, email, and online messaging platforms.
Manage reservations and bookings across platforms such as Booking.com, Expedia, Airbnb, and direct bookings.
Handle guest requests, questions, and complaints professionally, ensuring issues are resolved promptly.
Coordinate with the housekeeping and maintenance teams to ensure apartments are guest-ready and any issues are addressed quickly.
Maintain accurate guest records and process payments.
Ensure the reception area remains clean, organised, and welcoming at all times.
Build positive relationships with guests to encourage repeat bookings and excellent reviews.
Work as part of a team to deliver outstanding customer service and maintain high hospitality standards.

Requirements

We are looking for someone with previous experience in a receptionist, front-of-house, hospitality, or customer service role. Experience is preferred, but we understand that the right attitude, excellent communication skills, and a passion for delivering outstanding customer service are just as important. Full training will be provided on our systems and procedures to help you succeed in the role.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to interact professionally with guests, colleagues, and suppliers.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks in a busy, fast-paced environment.
A high level of attention to detail and the ability to work accurately under pressure.
Comfortable using computers, email, and online booking systems. Experience is an advantage, but full training will be provided on our systems.
A proactive approach to problem-solving and the confidence to use your initiative when needed.
Able to work both independently and as part of a supportive team.
Flexible and reliable, with the ability to work weekends and bank holidays on a rota, where required.
Excellent written and spoken English.
A passion for delivering outstanding customer service and creating a welcoming experience for every guest.
Right to work in the UK.
