Nursery Practitioner (Full Time)

Camperdown Nursery – Prestonpans

Camperdown Nursery is a warm, welcoming private nursery in Prestonpans, providing high-quality care and education for up to 24 children aged 2–5 years. Our purpose-built nursery offers a homely atmosphere, supported by two fantastic outdoor learning spaces where children are encouraged to explore, play and develop through meaningful experiences.

We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic and dedicated Nursery Practitioner to join our wonderful team on a full-time basis.

As a Nursery Practitioner, you will play an important role in supporting the day-to-day running of the nursery, creating a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment where every child can thrive. Working alongside our experienced team, you will help plan and deliver high-quality learning experiences while promoting children's wellbeing, development and independence.

About You

We are looking for someone who:

Is kind, caring and passionate about working with young children.
Has a genuine desire to nurture and support children throughout their early years.
Holds a relevant childcare qualification or is currently working towards one.
Has a sound understanding of early years practice and child development.
Has experience working within an early years or childcare setting.
Works well as part of a team and builds positive relationships with children and families.

Hours of Work

This is a full-time position (40 hours per week), working (4 days) Monday to Friday between 8:00am and 6:00pm. We will also consider part-time hours for the right candidate.

The role includes:

One scheduled day off each week on a rotating basis.
Two paid 20-minute breaks and one 35-minute lunch break during each 10-hour shift.

Join the PVG Scheme or complete an update check.
Register with the SSSC or GTC (where applicable).
Provide two satisfactory references, one of which must be from your current or most recent employer (referees will not be contacted without your knowledge).
