We are seeking a dynamic, technically minded, and growth-oriented professional to join our team.

Position Summary

The Sales & Technical Support is a hybrid role blending proactive business development with hands-on technical problem-solving. This role is split into roughly 70% Sales & Business Development and 30% Field Technical Support.

You will be the bridge between our suppliers and our customers—managing existing accounts, hunting for new business, designing technical systems, and ensuring our trade counter runs smoothly when you are in the office.

Key Responsibilities

1. Sales & Market Expansion (70% Focus)

Account Management & Prospecting: Nurture relationships with existing customers while actively identifying and securing new business opportunities.
Quotation & Design: Prepare highly competitive quotes and design bespoke technical systems from water tanks & pumps to full irrigation systems tailored to customer needs.
New Product Introduction: Rapidly learn about new products entering the market and strategically identify effective routes to market for them.
Sourcing & Procurement: Scout for innovative new products for Vale AgriFlow to add to our portfolio, find alternative suppliers for existing lines, and negotiate competitive commercial rates.

2. Field Support & Technical Problem Solving (30% Focus)

Rapid-Response Field Support: Travel to customer sites to provide hands-on technical support, troubleshoot water/irrigation issues, and offer on-the-spot problem-solving.
Site Consultation: Meet with customers on-site to assess their infrastructure and assist in the design of a new efficient water systems or upgrading existing system.

3. Knowledge & Training Leadership

Supplier Liaison: Connect with new and existing suppliers to undergo product training, ensuring your own technical knowledge remains industry leading.
Customer Education: Develop and deliver engaging training sessions for customers on key product lines (e.g. Pumps, Hunter Equipment) to build brand loyalty and trust.

4. Trade Counter Support

In-Office Operations: When not on the road, provide high-quality service at our trade counter, assisting walk-in customers with day-to-day parts requests and technical queries.

Key Requirements & Qualifications

Experience & Technical Skills

Proven experience in technical sales, account management, or business development in management of water including pumps, tanks & irrigation systems.
Strong mechanical or technical aptitude; ability to understand, design, and troubleshoot complex systems such as pumps, controllers, solenoids and irrigation systems.
Excellent commercial acumen with experience in supplier negotiation and margin management.

Pay: £32,500.00-£39,995.00 per year
