Bradshaw Manor Care Home is situated just off of the promenade at Rhyl seafront. At Bradshaw Manor, quality of life is at the heart of all care delivered. Offering exceptional person-centred Residential, Dementia, Nursing, Respite, and Palliative care within a supportive and inclusive community. Our compassionate team specialise in supporting older residents and those living with dementia. We’re perfectly positioned with the busy city of Chester which is just a 30-minute drive away. Additionally, the lovely Welsh landscapes of the Conway Valley and Llandudno’s Great Orme are just a short drive along the coastline. Our welcoming facility is at the heart of everything Rhyl has to offer. The picturesque promenade, Rhyl Pavillion Theatre, the events arena and bowling green are very close by and easily accessible from our home. This wonderful Lovett Care home boasts a wide range of modern facilities to help residents feel at home, including beautifully decorated bedrooms equipped with ensuite bathroom facilities, a selection of stylish communal lounges, inviting dining spaces and manicured gardens where residents can enjoy some of the fresh sea air. The dedicated team here at Bradshaw Manor ensure no two days are the same, whether it be a trip down Rhyl promenade or baking, there’s an activity for everyone. The home reflects the Lovett Care vision of providing the highest standards of safety, comfort and care. We invest in the latest technology and offer a purposeful programme of daily activity and gentle exercise to enhance the experience, care and wellbeing of our residents. All team members are hand selected for their warmth and passion; they have a full induction and ongoing training from our in-house trainers. Across Lovett Care all of our staff are paid the national minimum wage or above.

We are seeking to appoint a kind, organised and experienced Maintenance Assistant to join our team. To ensure that the buildings, equipment and fixtures are maintained in good, safe working order, compliant with safety regulations and records updates. Responsible for the maintenance of the accommodation that it is in a constant clean and attractive condition. We have a 24 hours contract available with an hourly rate of £13.00! Shift times are 0800-1630, across Monday to Friday. Flexibility may be required to meet the needs of the business.

Role Responsibilities:

Carry out regular inspections throughout the Home, monitor and action plan any
maintenance issues found.
Report defects requiring specialist attention in a timely manner.
Carry out domestic painting, decorating and wallpapering to a schedule defined by the Home Manager, and ensure bedrooms are of good standard for new admissions.
Carry out minor joinery work and minor plumbing.
Undertake regular inspections/room checks to identify any defects that need rectifying and enter into the maintenance log book to create a schedule for completion.
To undertake and prioritize other tasks as required by the Management team.
Ensure all compliance documents are up to date.
Carry out Health and Safety and Fire Safety drills and training as required.
Complete Legionella testing in liaison with consultants.
Take responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of adults that the post holder is responsible for or comes into contact with.

Skills and experience required:

Experience in basic plumbing, electrical, joinery or gardening work is essential.
Specialist skills in a building trade is preferable.
Ability to use basic tools and operate equipment.
Must have a full clean driving license.
Must be reliable and be able to communicate with residents and other members of staff.
Care home background is preferable.
