Accounts Assistant

Location: Iver, Buckinghamshire
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday (8-hour day between 8:00am – 6:00pm)

Annual Salary: £30,000 - £34,000

About Panificio Italiano

Panificio Italiano is an independent bakery based in Iver, Buckinghamshire, operating from a modern, purpose-built automated bakery. We are passionate about producing exceptional bakery products, combining traditional recipes with innovation to supply customers across the UK.

As our business continues to grow, we are looking for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join our Finance team.

The Opportunity

This is a varied and rewarding role where you will support the day-to-day running of the Finance department. Working closely with the Assistant Accountant and Finance Director, you will play an important role in ensuring financial processes are completed accurately and efficiently.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a busy environment, has excellent attention to detail, and is looking to develop their career in finance.

Key Responsibilities

You will be involved in a wide range of finance activities, including:

Accounts Receivable

Raising customer invoices and processing sales documentation.
Preparing and issuing customer statements.
Responding to customer account queries.
Monitoring outstanding customer balances and supporting credit control.
Maintaining accurate customer records and pricing information.

Accounts Payable

Processing purchase orders and supplier invoices.
Preparing weekly supplier payment runs.
Reconciling company credit card transactions.
Maintaining supplier records and assisting with new supplier set-up.
Ensuring invoices are correctly authorised and processed.

Banking & Finance Support

Processing online payments.
Completing daily bank reconciliations.
Assisting with financial reporting and product costing.
Supporting month-end, year-end, and audit activities.
Maintaining accurate financial records and documentation.
Assisting with continuous improvement of finance processes and systems.

General Administration

Monitoring the finance inbox and responding to queries.
Providing general administrative support to the Finance team.
Assisting with office administration where required.

About You

We're looking for someone who is organised, reliable, and enjoys working as part of a team.

Essential Skills & Experience

Previous experience in an Accounts Assistant or similar finance role.
Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs.
Excellent attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
Strong organisational and time management skills.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
Positive, proactive attitude with a willingness to learn.

Desirable

Experience using Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or a similar ERP/accounting system.
Experience using online banking systems.
AAT qualification or currently studying towards AAT.
