Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated and skilled Fibre Build Engineer to join our dynamic team in. This vital role involves the installation, construction, and maintenance of fibre optic networks, ensuring seamless connectivity for our clients. As a Fibre Build Engineer, you will be at the forefront of deploying cutting-edge telecommunications infrastructure, contributing to the expansion of high-speed internet services. Your expertise will help deliver reliable, high-quality fibre solutions that power modern communication.

Responsibilities

Execute fibre optic cable installation and splicing activities in various environments, including underground and aerial deployments.
Operate heavy machinery such as excavators to prepare sites and facilitate cable laying processes.
Use hand tools and power tools to assemble, connect, and secure fibre components accurately.
Conduct mechanical tasks like welding to ensure structural integrity of network enclosures and support structures.
Perform electrical work related to network equipment setup, grounding, and testing to guarantee optimal performance.
Follow safety protocols rigorously during all build activities, maintaining a safe working environment.
Document all installation procedures, site conditions, and technical specifications meticulously for quality assurance.

Requirements

Proven experience with excavator operation in construction or utility environments.
Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in welding and assembly tasks.
Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools essential for fibre optic installation work.
Basic electrical experience related to telecommunications infrastructure is highly desirable.
Knowledge of fibre optic cable handling, splicing techniques, and testing procedures.
Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and site plans accurately.
Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to troubleshooting issues on-site.
