Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Cafe Supervisor to oversee daily operations within our vibrant bakery café environment. We're looking for candidates with previous supervisory or management experience in a retail or hospitality background. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing staff, ensuring exceptional customer service and maintaining high standards of food safety and quality. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for coffee, baking and team leadership to contribute to a very popular and dynamic, independent bakery-cafe.

Duties

Supervise daily café operations, ensuring smooth service flow and high standards of customer satisfaction
Lead, motivate, and manage a team of baristas and kitchen staff to deliver excellent service
Assist with food production tasks such as preparing and baking pastries and other food items
Ensure all staff follow proper food safety protocols and maintain cleanliness in the kitchen and service areas
Manage stock levels, order supplies, and ensure proper storage of ingredients and equipment
Handle customer enquiries, resolve complaints promptly and ensure a warm welcoming atmosphere
Train new team members in food preparation, serving procedures and health & safety standards
Monitor staff performance, provide constructive feedback, and support professional development initiatives

Requirements

Proven supervising experience within a retail or hospitality environment
Preferable background in food preparation, cooking, and kitchen experience
Excellent team management skills with the ability to lead by example
Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food production
Previous experience in hospitality, or restaurant experience is desirable
Familiarity with barista experience or coffee preparation is advantageous
Demonstrated leadership qualities with the ability to motivate staff under pressure
Good organisational skills with attention to detail in food presentation and service standards
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism

This role is ideal for those who are passionate about working in an independent business, delivering exceptional customer experiences through effective supervision and team leadership.

Pay: Up to £14.00 per hour
