We're looking for an experienced Warehouse & Inventory Manager to lead the next stage of our operational journey.

This isn't simply about managing a warehouse.

It's an opportunity to build robust systems, introduce world-class inventory disciplines and create a warehouse operation that supports manufacturing excellence.

At Allett, we manufacture premium British lawnmowers used by passionate gardeners and some of the world's most prestigious sports grounds. We're a SME, not a large corporate manufacturer. Success in this role will come from being hands-on, pragmatic and comfortable working in an environment where you'll be directly involved in solving problems, implementing improvements and supporting the wider team. As part of an exciting restructure, this newly focused role will take ownership of our warehouse, goods-in and inventory management activities.

What you'll do

Lead the day-to-day operation of the warehouse, goods-in and inventory functions.
Develop and implement robust warehouse procedures, controls and standard operating practices.
Drive inventory accuracy through disciplined stock management, cycle counting and effective transaction control.
Improve the management and visibility of Work in Progress (WIP).
Ensure materials are available to support production whilst maintaining optimum stock levels.
Develop warehouse KPIs and use data to drive continuous improvement.
Optimise warehouse layout, storage locations and material flow using Lean principles.
Lead and develop the warehouse team, promoting accountability, ownership and high standards.
Work closely with Production, Purchasing and Planning to ensure materials move efficiently throughout the business.
Champion 5S, visual management and continuous improvement initiatives.
Ensure all warehouse operations are carried out safely and efficiently.

What we're looking for

Essential

Significant warehouse management experience within a manufacturing environment.
Proven success improving inventory accuracy and warehouse disciplines.
Strong understanding of inventory management, cycle counting and stock control.
Experience implementing warehouse procedures and standard operating practices.
Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to positively influence behavioural change.
Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.
Comfortable analysing data and using KPIs to improve performance.
Excellent communication skills and the confidence to challenge poor practice constructively.

Desirable

Experience within engineering, precision manufacturing, automotive, aerospace or similar industries.
Lean Manufacturing experience.
Knowledge of Kanban, 5S and Visual Management.
Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (or equivalent).
Experience introducing barcode or warehouse management systems.
CILT Level 3/5 (Logistics)
