The Role

An opportunity has arisen at Stalybridge to join the Conversion team as a Production Operator. We are looking for a highly motivated, focused and driven individual who can demonstrate a positive, can-do attitude together with excellent organisational skills.

The role involves operating conversion, print and case-making equipment, ensuring production targets, quality standards and safety requirements are consistently achieved. You will be expected to train across multiple production areas to contribute to a flexible, multi-skilled team.

Key Responsibilities

Operate and monitor conversion, print and operate die cut and flexographic folder gluer casemaker machinery safely and efficiently.
Set up machines for production runs, ensuring correct materials and specifications are used, according to specific works order.
Carry out routine machine adjustments to maintain quality and productivity standards.
Perform quality checks and inspections throughout the production process.
Identify and report quality, equipment or process issues promptly.
Complete production and quality documentation accurately.
Undertake general manual handling duties in line with safe working practices.
Carry out basic computer-based tasks, including recording production data and reporting downtime.
Support housekeeping activities and maintain high standards of cleanliness within the production area, conducting daily cleaning tasks.
Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve production targets and continuous improvement objectives.
Minimise waste through effective machine operation and process control.
Adhere to all Health & Safety, Quality and Environmental procedures and policies.
Conduct routine machine inspections and basic preventative maintenance activities.

Identify and report equipment defects or potential issues before they impact production.
Maintain machine settings and tooling to achieve optimum performance and quality.

Skills and Experience

Good communication skills.
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to prioritise workload and work to deadlines.
Self-motivated with a proactive approach.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
Willingness to learn new skills and work across multiple production areas.
Basic numeracy and literacy skills.
Understanding and appreciation of Health & Safety requirements.
Experience of working to BRCGS standards.
