Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Assistant to support our culinary team in delivering high-quality meals and maintaining a clean, organised kitchen environment. The successful candidate will play a vital role in meal preparation, food safety, and ensuring smooth kitchen operations. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in developing their catering and culinary skills within a professional setting.

Duties

Assist with meal preparation and food plating under the supervision of the head chef or senior kitchen staff
Support catering events by preparing ingredients and assisting with service setup
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of kitchen surfaces, utensils, and equipment in accordance with food safety standards
Help with basic cooking tasks such as chopping, mixing, and assembling dishes
Ensure proper storage of ingredients and leftovers to prevent contamination
Serve food to guests or customers as required, ensuring presentation standards are met
Follow all health and safety regulations to uphold a safe working environment
Assist with inventory checks and restocking supplies as needed

Experience

Previous experience in a restaurant, catering, or food service environment is desirable but not essential; training will be provided
Knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen safety procedures is advantageous
Experience with meal preparation, cooking, or culinary tasks will be beneficial for the role
Familiarity with food safety standards and hygiene practices is preferred
A proactive attitude towards learning new skills within a fast-paced kitchen environment
