Full job description

Internal Sales Executive (B2B)

Bishop's Stortford, Hertfordshire. Full time, office based.

£27,500 to £30,000 depending on experience, plus performance bonus.

This is a phone-first role. You will spend most of your day speaking to business customers who have already asked us for a quote. If you would rather work through an inbox than pick up the phone, this is not the job for you.

You do not need years of sales experience. You do need to be confident on the phone, organised, and genuinely interested in getting good at selling.

The opportunity

Displaysense has been designing and supplying display and retail equipment since 1978. We are a multi-brand group selling to retailers, museums, schools, universities, hospitality venues and commercial offices across the UK.

We receive more B2B enquiries than we currently follow up properly. Quotes go out and some of them go quiet, not because the customer chose someone else, but because nobody picked up the phone. That is the gap this role fills. The work is already there waiting for you.

What you will do

Call customers who have asked us for a quote, and help them get to a decision
Follow up open quotes so nothing sits unattended
Build relationships with repeat customers and spot when they are due to reorder or refit
Record every call, note and next action in HubSpot
Hand larger or more complex opportunities to the Account Development Manager or the Commercial Director with the facts already gathered
Keep your own call list and diary in order

You will not be cold calling from a purchased list, chasing deliveries, or handling returns and after-sales queries. We have a triage system that sends that work elsewhere, which is what gives you the clear air to sell.

What we need from you

Confidence on the phone, and the ability to hold a proper conversation with a business owner, a buyer or a facilities manager
Some experience in a customer facing or commercial role. Retail, contact centre, internal sales, telesales, hospitality management or customer service all count
Basic commercial sense. You understand that what we make on the order matters as much as winning it
Comfortable with email, spreadsheets and a computer generally. We will teach you HubSpot
Organised, and able to work through a list without someone standing over you
A sense of humour and the resilience to hear no without it ruining your afternoon

We will train you on the product range, the systems and the way we sell. What we cannot train is whether you want to be on the phone.

The team

You will be based at our Bishop's Stortford head office, working alongside our operations, marketing, customer service and finance teams. It is a small, capable group where people know each other's names and decisions do not disappear into committees. Easy commute from Harlow, Sawbridgeworth, Stansted, Hertford and Ware, with free on-site parking.

What success looks like

By 30 days you know the product range, you are comfortable in our systems, and you are making follow up calls every day.

By 90 days you have a visible pipeline of warm opportunities in HubSpot that you built yourself, and quote to order conversion has moved.

By six months you are the familiar voice for a group of repeat customers and you are bringing in orders without being prompted.

Package

Salary £27,500 to £30,000 depending on experience, plus performance bonus. 25 days annual leave, Christmas office shutdown, free on-site parking, employee discount, company events.
