About the Role
The Procurement and MP&L Manager is responsible for the strategic and operational management of procurement, materials planning, and logistics to support high-end, low-volume automotive programmes.
The role ensures the effective sourcing, planning, control, and flow of materials from suppliers through to production, enabling on-time delivery and programme success. Working closely with Production, Engineering, Operations, and Finance, the position balances strategic supplier management and sourcing with hands-on execution of materials planning and logistics.
A key focus is on driving supplier performance, cost optimisation, planning accuracy, inventory control, and supply chain resilience, while supporting programme delivery and continuous improvement across the end-to-end supply chain.

In addition we deliver full vehicle development, including chassis and powertrain, to high net-worth heritage racers via our heritage racing division, ADP Classic Racing. We restore and rebuild high-end classic racing cars, prepare drivers, manage a programme of touring and racing, and provide full event support.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Develop and implement procurement and supply chain strategies aligned with business and programme objectives.
- Lead supplier sourcing, selection, and onboarding, including RFQs, commercial negotiations, and contract agreements.
- Build and maintain strategic supplier relationships to drive long-term value in cost, quality, delivery, and innovation.
- Identify and mitigate supply chain risks through strategies such as dual sourcing, capacity planning, and supplier development.
- Analyse spend, supplier performance, and market trends to identify cost-saving and value-improvement opportunities.
- Support new programme development through early supplier engagement and sourcing strategy definition.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across procurement, materials planning, and logistics to enhance efficiency and performance.
- Own and manage day-to-day Procurement and Materials Planning & Logistics (MP&L) activities to ensure uninterrupted supply to production.
- Develop, maintain, and continuously improve Material Requirements Planning (MRP) to align with production schedules, lead times, and engineering changes.
- Collaborate with Production, Scheduling, and Engineering teams to align material plans with build sequences, BOM updates, and programme timing.
- Monitor and manage inventory levels, ensuring accuracy and optimal stockholding while minimising excess, shortages, and obsolescence.
- Oversee inbound logistics, warehousing, and line-side material flow to ensure efficient and timely delivery of parts.
- Manage supplier performance on delivery, quality, and responsiveness, resolving issues to maintain supply continuity.
- Ensure accurate ERP/MRP system data, including supplier details, pricing, lead times, and inventory parameters.
- Identify and resolve material shortages or supply issues to prevent disruption to production.
- Prepare and present regular reports on supplier performance, inventory, material availability, and delivery risks.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and Health & Safety standards.
Skills, Experience & Education
- Proven experience in Procurement, MP&L, or Supply Chain Management within a manufacturing environment, ideally automotive or high-complexity engineering.
- Strong experience in both strategic sourcing and operational materials planning/logistics execution.
- Demonstrated success in supplier negotiation, cost management, and supplier performance improvement.
- Strong working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems, inventory control, production planning, and logistics coordination.
- Experience managing supply chains in low-volume, high-value or build-to-order environments.
- Strong commercial and analytical capability, with the ability to interpret spend data, forecasts, and performance metrics.
- Highly organised with excellent planning skills and attention to detail.
- Able to balance strategic thinking with hands-on operational delivery.
- Proactive, solution-focused, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, programme-driven environment.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills across all levels of the organisation.
- Confident and accountable, with the ability to challenge constructively and drive results.
- Experience with composite materials, machined components, and painted assemblies is desirable.
- Advanced Excel and reporting/analysis skills.
- A degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline is desirable.
- Professional qualifications (e.g. CIPS, APICS/CPIM) are desirable but not essential

The role requires a flexible approach, with the ability to adapt to business needs. While the key responsibilities cover the main duties of the role, additional tasks aligned with the general scope and level of responsibility may be required.
Salary
Circa. £80,000 per annum subject to skills and industry experience
