Events & Operations Manager – Titanic Distillers Visitor Experience

Purpose of the Role

The Events & Operations Manager is responsible for the planning, coordination and delivery of all events, private hires, corporate functions and premium visitor experiences across the Titanic Distillers Visitor Experience at the Pumphouse. The role also acts as a senior Duty Manager, supporting the day-to-day operation of the visitor attraction and ensuring exceptional guest experiences across all departments.

Reporting to the General Manager, the Events & Operations Manager leads the operational delivery of all events while working closely with the management team to ensure both event days and daily operations are delivered to the highest standards of hospitality, safety, commercial performance and customer service.

Operations & Visitor Experience

The Events & Operations Manager will act as Duty Manager with responsibility for the overall operation of Titanic Distillers Visitor Experience.

Responsibilities include:

Managing the day-to-day operation of guided tours, retail, bar, admissions and visitor services.
Leading daily shift briefings and allocating staff resources effectively.
Monitoring visitor flow, tour schedules and guest satisfaction.
Responding promptly to operational issues while maintaining exceptional service standards.
Ensuring the Visitor Experience consistently reflects the Titanic Distillers brand and reputation.

Events & Hospitality Delivery

Lead the planning, coordination and operational delivery of all events, including corporate functions, weddings, private hires, whiskey tastings, product launches, VIP visits and exclusive experiences.
Translate event briefs into detailed operational plans covering staffing, room layouts, guest flow, food and beverage service, entertainment, production and logistics.
Act as the operational lead on event days, ensuring seamless coordination between all departments.
Coordinate with external suppliers, contractors and entertainers where required.

Commercial Performance

Support the achievement of the Visitor Experience's commercial objectives, including:

Delivery of event revenue and private hire targets.
Maximising beverage sales during events and daily trading.
Driving retail sales and visitor spend.
Effective labour scheduling in line with forecast demand.
Maximising tour occupancy and visitor numbers.
Maintaining excellent customer satisfaction scores across online review platforms.
Encouraging repeat business through exceptional guest experiences.

Client & Event Management

Act as the primary operational contact for clients throughout the planning and delivery of their event.
Ensure all event requirements are communicated clearly across departments.
Build strong relationships with corporate clients, wedding organisers and external partners.
Gather client feedback to continually improve the visitor experience.
Community management

Leadership & People Management

Provide confident leadership to Visitor Experience Hosts, bar staff, casual event staff and contractors.
Lead by example, creating a positive and professional working environment.
Support recruitment, induction, coaching and development of team members.
Deliver regular briefings and ensure operational standards are maintained.
Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability and continuous improvement.

Compliance & Standards

Ensure all operations comply with Health & Safety legislation, licensing regulations and company policies.
Maintain excellent housekeeping and presentation standards across all visitor areas.
Ensure Standard Operating Procedures are followed and regularly reviewed.
Conduct regular operational checks and risk assessments.

Essential Criteria

Working Hours

This is a full-time operational management role requiring flexibility to meet the needs of the business. As Titanic Distillers operates seven days a week and hosts a diverse programme of events, the successful candidate will be expected to work a varied rota, including:

Regular evening and weekend shifts.
Bank Holidays and public holidays as required.
Late night working during events and private functions.
Occasional early morning shifts to support event set up or operational requirements.

Flexibility is essential, as working hours will be determined by business needs, visitor demand and the annual events calendar. Time off will be scheduled in accordance with the rota and operational requirements.

Candidates must demonstrate:

Minimum of 3 years' management experience within hospitality, tourism, visitor attractions or events.
Proven experience managing weddings, corporate events, private hires or large scale public events.
Experience operating as a Duty Manager within a busy customer facing environment.
Strong knowledge of hospitality operations including bars, visitor attractions and retail.
Excellent organisational and project management skills.
Strong commercial awareness with experience managing budgets, labour costs and revenue targets.
Ability to lead large teams in fast-paced environments.
Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Professional and confident manner when dealing with VIP guests and corporate clients.
Flexible approach to working evenings, weekends and public holidays.
Full right to work in the UK.

Desirable Criteria

The following would be advantageous:

Experience within a distillery, brewery, tourism attraction or heritage venue.
Knowledge of Irish whiskey and the tourism industry.
Experience delivering festivals, outdoor events and live entertainment.
Experience using ticketing, EPOS and visitor management systems.
Experience managing weddings and premium hospitality experiences.

Pay: £35,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
