Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to join our busy culinary team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and organisation of our kitchen environment, ensuring smooth daily operations. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience within a professional hospitality setting, with the potential for career development in the culinary and hospitality industries. The role involves supporting chefs and kitchen staff by handling basic food preparation tasks, assisting with cleaning duties, and maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety.

Responsibilities

Washing, cleaning, and sanitising all kitchen utensils, equipment, and surfaces to uphold hygiene standards
Assisting with basic food preparation tasks under supervision, including peeling, chopping, and garnishing ingredients
Ensuring all areas of the kitchen are kept clean and organised throughout the shift
Supporting the storage of ingredients and supplies in accordance with health and safety regulations
Assisting with waste disposal and recycling procedures in line with company policies
Restocking supplies as needed to ensure smooth kitchen operations
Adhering to health and safety guidelines at all times to maintain a safe working environment for all staff

Experience

Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality environment is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates
Knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, or culinary skills is advantageous
Experience working in a busy kitchen or restaurant setting is a plus
Familiarity with health and safety standards within a food service environment is beneficial
A positive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop within the hospitality sector
