About The Job

Salary: NJC Grade 6 £27,254 to £28,598 per annum
Contract Type: Fixed Term Contract - Until 30/06/2027
Working Pattern: 37 hours per week
Location: Based in Chichester – Hybrid working available, 2 days expected in office with flexibility to cover leave where required.

Internal candidates wishing to apply for this role will be considered for a secondment position. Please can you therefore discuss and agree this with your manager before applying for this position.

You will be providing self-directed and proactive, confidential professional business and administrative support. This will include directly supporting the work of social workers by updating databases, attending complex meetings to produce written records, and providing support to senior leaders to enable them to deliver their strategic objectives and key outcomes.

By providing professional business and administrative support you will be making a difference to the work of Children, Young People and Learning Directorate and enhancing the effectiveness of the whole team. More detailed descriptions and information can be found in the Job Descriptions attached.

Ideal Candidate
You’ll be someone who values organisation, clarity, and making information easier for teams to use. You’ll also be confident using emerging AI tools—particularly Microsoft Copilot—to streamline processes and enhance the quality of reports and outputs produced.

Experience and Skills

Just a few key skills you will need include:

Proven experience using Microsoft Copilot for professional note‑taking, content generation and agent creation.
A strong understanding of CYPL meeting requirements, workflows and terminology.
Ability to translate complex information into clear, user‑focused knowledge content.
Excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail.
Confidence working in a fast‑paced, service‑focused environment with multiple stakeholders.
Work independently, confidently, flexibly and in close partnership with others in the Directorate and wider organisation.
Good time management to manage short deadlines and conflicting priorities.
Excellent Word and Excel skills, and the ability to concentrate over long periods of time to take accurate and comprehensive notes during meetings on complex and sensitive subjects.
Resilience and excellent interpersonal skills when dealing with vulnerable individuals or those with complex problems, and occasional challenging behaviours from those accessing the service.
Handle information with sensitivity and confidentiality.
GCSE English and Maths, or equivalent qualification or experience operating at this level of literacy and numeracy.
Recognised qualification in office skills or administration, or a business-related subject at level 2 or 3 of the national qualifications framework or have acquired equivalent experience within the workplace.
