Full job description

Location: Based in Bury, with some travel and hybrid working available
Salary: Competitive (Dependant on salary)
Contract: Full time, 35 hours per week
Reports to: Director / Registered Manager

Rehabilitation for Independence (RFI) and Support for Independence (SFI) provide specialist rehabilitation, case management and support services to individuals with complex needs, including acquired brain injury, neurological conditions and disabilities.

As we continue to grow and strengthen our services, we are seeking an experienced and proactive Compliance & Quality Manager to help ensure our organisation remains compliant, safe, well-governed and fully aligned with CQC regulations and best practice.

This is an exciting opportunity to make a real impact by shaping quality systems, supporting operational teams and driving a culture of continuous improvement.

About the Role

The Compliance & Quality Manager will lead the organisation's compliance, governance and quality assurance functions across both companies.

You will work closely with Registered Managers, Care Coordinators and HR to ensure the organisation maintains high standards of care, governance and regulatory compliance.

You will be responsible for monitoring compliance against CQC regulations, internal policies, contractual requirements and industry best practice, whilst supporting continual quality improvement across all services.

Key Responsibilities

CQC Compliance & Governance

Lead and oversee regulatory compliance across all services.
Ensure ongoing compliance with the Health and Social Care Act 2008 Regulations.
Prepare and maintain evidence required for CQC inspections.
Support registration applications, variations and notifications.
Monitor compliance against Fundamental Standards.
Ensure policies and procedures remain up to date and compliant.
Act as a key point of contact for regulators and external stakeholders.

Quality Assurance

Develop and maintain effective quality assurance systems.
Conduct internal audits across operational, clinical and governance areas.
Monitor action plans arising from audits, incidents and inspections.
Analyse trends, identify risks and recommend improvements.
Produce quality and compliance reports for senior management.

Policies & Procedures

Write, review and update policies and operational procedures.
Ensure policies reflect current legislation and best practice.
Communicate and implement policy changes effectively across the workforce.

Auditing & Regulatory Monitoring

Undertake regular audits including:
Care records
Support plans
Medication management
Staff files
Governance systems
Health & safety
Incident reporting
Complaints management
Track and evidence completion of improvement actions.

Continuous Improvement

Promote a culture of quality and accountability.
Support operational managers in achieving outstanding standards.
Lead service improvement projects.
Benchmark organisational performance against best practice.

About You

Essential

Experience conducting audits and managing compliance systems.
Excellent report writing and communication skills.
Experience developing policies and procedures.
Strong organisational skills and project management skills.
Ability to analyse data and produce meaningful compliance reports.

Desirable

Understanding of CQC Fundamental Standards.
Knowledge of safeguarding adults and children.
Experience within rehabilitation, case management, domicilary care or supported living services.
