Full job description

Adel Professional Hair and Beauty is a Yorkshire based company with 11 trade stores and training academies trading for the professional customer. We are distributors of professional hair and beauty products from some of the worlds leading brands.

We are looking for a 24 hour Supervisor in our store in Derby spread over 4 days.

You will currently be Supervisor or Senior Sales with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a customer facing environment looking for your next challenge. Experience in Retail/Hair and Beauty is desirable but not necessary. Please note, this role will include visiting and delivering to salons across Derbyshire and include an element of bringing on new customers via salon visits.

Reports to: Store Manager

Overall Job Purpose

The Supervisor supports the Store Manager in the day-to-day running of the store, ensuring efficient operations, strong sales performance, and excellent customer service.

The role involves supervising the team on a daily basis, supporting sales growth, maintaining high store standards, and ensuring stock and operational processes are effectively managed. The Supervisor will lead by example to create a positive, productive, and secure workplace while supporting the delivery of company targets and objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Sales

Support the achievement of store sales targets.
Identify and create sales opportunities with new and existing customers, including promoting company own-brand products.
Maintain awareness of the local market, customer needs, and competitor activity.
Analyse department and product sales and support initiatives to improve store performance.
Assist the Store Manager in delivering the Store Action Plan and sales initiatives.
Promote in-store campaigns, promotions, and product launches to maximise sales.

Team Leadership & Staff Support

Lead by example and promote a positive, motivated team culture.
Supervise staff on a day-to-day basis to ensure high levels of productivity, service, and professionalism.
Support the Store Manager with staff training, onboarding, and development.
Provide guidance and coaching to team members to improve product knowledge and sales skills.
Encourage staff to share ideas that improve the working environment and increase sales opportunities.
Communicate any staff issues, operational concerns, or development needs to the Store Manager.
Support the Store Manager with team management, including performance discussions and operational guidance when required.
Take responsibility for personal development and work with the Store Manager to build management skills.

Customer Experience

Ensure all customers receive a consistently high level of service, support, and professional advice.
Actively promote a welcoming environment for trade customers.
Support and encourage the team to deliver excellent customer experience at all times.
Ensure the Adel Professional Mission Statement and Values are understood and demonstrated by all team members.

Operational Responsibilities

Support the daily operational running of the store when on duty.
Assist with cash handling, stock control, and store security procedures.
Ensure merchandising, displays, shelves, and stock areas are maintained to company standards.
Monitor stock levels, support stock rotation, and ensure product availability.
Verify that stock coding, pricing, and promotional materials are accurate.
Ensure store administration procedures are completed accurately and on time.
Maintain a safe and secure environment for staff, customers, and company assets.
Support the effective use of the stock management system and ensure team members are competent in its use.
