About Severn Trading Limited

Severn Trading Limited is a growing company specialising in modular buildings, transport, site accommodation, and nationwide project support. As our business continues to expand, we are looking for an experienced and organised Accounts Manager / Bookkeeper to join our office team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and wants to become an important part of a friendly and ambitious business.

The Role

You will be responsible for managing the day-to-day financial administration of the business, ensuring accurate financial records are maintained and supporting the wider management team.

Key Responsibilities

Processing purchase invoices and sales invoices
Credit control and chasing outstanding payments
Bank reconciliations
Posting receipts and payments
Managing supplier statements
Preparing payment runs
Maintaining accurate bookkeeping records
VAT returns
Assisting with month-end procedures
Payroll support (experience beneficial but not essential)
Maintaining customer and supplier accounts
Producing financial reports for management
General office administration as required

What We're Looking For

Essential

Previous bookkeeping or accounts experience
Good knowledge of Sage 50 Accounts (or similar accounting software)
Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles
Excellent attention to detail
Good organisational skills
Ability to prioritise workload
Competent using Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word
Professional telephone manner
Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Desirable

Payroll experience
AAT qualification (or working towards)
Experience within construction, transport or plant hire industries
CIS knowledge
Experience with VAT returns
