Full job description

Purpose of the Role

To manage the day-to-day operation of the shop, ensuring excellent customer service, strong sales performance, effective stock control, and the leadership of a motivated retail team.

Key Responsibilities

Lead, motivate, and develop the shop team.
Deliver excellent customer service and resolve customer issues promptly.
Achieve sales targets and maximise store profitability.
Manage staff rotas, attendance, and performance.
Oversee stock ordering, stock control, and merchandising.
Ensure the shop is clean, well-presented, and visually appealing.
Monitor cash handling, banking, and daily store administration.
Implement promotions and seasonal displays.
Ensure compliance with company policies, health and safety, and security procedures.
Support recruitment, training, and induction of new staff.

Skills & Experience

Essential

At least 3+ years’ experience in a previous retail supervisory or management role.
Strong leadership and communication skills.
Customer-focused with a commercial mindset.
Good organisational and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work flexibly, including weekends and peak trading periods.

Desirable

Experience in a giftware, tourism, or independent retail environment.
Knowledge of stock control and visual merchandising.

Pay: £31,500.00-£40,000.00 per year
