About The Role

This vacancy is only open to those that are already qualified as a Rail operator, within a freight environment. This is also a Talent Pool vacancy for you to register early interest for upcoming recruitment.

At GB Railfreight, we’re proud to be one of the UK’s most successful, people-focused rail freight operators — and we’re looking for motivated, safety-conscious Rail Operators (Shunters) to join our exceptional team.

What you’ll do

Safely marshal, couple and uncouple wagons and locomotives within depots and yards.
Carry out essential ground operations and safety checks.
Work closely with Drivers and Yard Managers to keep freight services running efficiently and on time

What we are looking for

A strong commitment to safety and operational excellence
Great teamwork, communication, and attention to detail
Previous rail experience is a must
Full UK Manual drivers’ licence
Live within 45 minutes of the location on the job advert.
