Overview

We are looking for enthusiastic, friendly, and reliable Front of House Wait Staff to join our team in a busy pub serving classic Italian cuisine @ The Swan Inn. You will play a key role in delivering outstanding customer service, ensuring every guest enjoys a welcoming atmosphere and an exceptional dining experience. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with a team, ensure high standards of food safety and hospitality, and contribute to a welcoming atmosphere for all guests. Previous experience in restaurant, hotel, or barista roles is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

Welcome guests warmly and provide attentive, professional service throughout their visit.
Take accurate food and drink orders and communicate them efficiently to the kitchen and bar.
Serve food and beverages promptly, ensuring presentation and quality standards are maintained.
Develop a thorough knowledge of the menu, daily specials, ingredients, and allergens to confidently advise guests.
Handle customer enquiries and resolve any issues professionally and courteously.
Prepare and maintain dining areas, ensuring tables are clean, set, and ready for service.
Process bills and payments accurately using the point-of-sale (POS) system.
Work closely with kitchen and bar teams to ensure smooth and efficient service.
Follow all food hygiene, health and safety, and licensing regulations.
Assist with opening and closing duties, including cleaning, restocking, and preparing the restaurant for service.
Promote menu specials, desserts, and beverages to enhance the guest experience and maximise sales.

Skills & ExperienceEssential

Previous experience in hospitality, waiting, or customer service is essential
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Friendly, approachable, and customer-focused attitude.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
Reliable, punctual, and able to work well as part of a team.

Desirable

Experience in a busy pub or restaurant environment.
Knowledge of Italian cuisine and wines.
Experience using POS systems.
Food Hygiene Certificate.
