Wedding & Events Manager
Monachyle Mhor Hotel | Balquhidder, Perthshire
This isn't just another hotel job...
Nestled on the shores of Loch Voil, surrounded by mountains, wildlife and some of Scotland's most breathtaking scenery, Monachyle Mhor is far more than a boutique hotel.
We're a family-owned business with personality, soul and a passion for creating unforgettable experiences. From award-winning food and spectacular weddings to wild swimming, paddleboarding, mountain walks, roaring fires and whisky by the loch, life at Monachyle Mhor is anything but ordinary.
As part of the Mhor Collection, we're known for doing hospitality differently. We don't follow trends—we create experiences people remember.
Now we're looking for an exceptional Wedding & Events Manager to help write the next chapter of our story.
If you love people, the outdoors, incredible food and drink, beautiful spaces and making things happen, we'd love to hear from you.
What you'll be doing
You'll be the face of our weddings and events—from the very first enquiry through to the last dance.
You'll build relationships, create magical experiences, grow our wedding and events business and work alongside an amazing team to deliver unforgettable stays.
This is a hands-on management role where no two days are the same.
One day you'll be showing a couple around the hotel overlooking the loch, the next styling an outdoor ceremony, hosting a wedding breakfast, negotiating with suppliers or helping the restaurant team deliver exceptional service.
If you're happiest sitting behind a desk all day, this probably isn't the role for you.
We're looking for someone who loves growing a business
We're not simply looking for an Events Manager.
We're looking for someone who sees opportunities.
You'll be passionate about:
- Driving wedding and event sales.
- Actively sourcing new business and building relationships within the local and national wedding market.
- Promoting Monachyle Mhor as one of Scotland's most unique wedding and events destinations.
- Networking with wedding planners, photographers, florists and local businesses.
- Creating exciting event ideas that attract new guests throughout the year.
- Maximising revenue across accommodation, food & beverage and exclusive-use events.
- Looking at ways to increase occupancy, profitability and repeat business.
We'd love you to be...
- An experienced Wedding & Events Manager or an ambitious Food & Beverage or Operations Manager ready to take on this role.
- Commercially minded with a natural flair for sales and business development.
- Highly organised and brilliant at juggling multiple events without breaking a sweat.
- A confident communicator who instantly puts people at ease.
- Excellent with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Experienced with Mews (preferred but not essential).
- Comfortable negotiating with suppliers and building long-lasting relationships.
- Creative with an eye for styling—from rustic lochside ceremonies and candlelit barns to elegant contemporary floral displays.
- Passionate about exceptional hospitality, great food, fine wine, whisky and cocktails.
- Someone who enjoys rolling up their sleeves and supporting every department whenever needed.
- Warm, approachable, positive and a genuine team player.
What you'll also be doing
- Working closely with our Owners, General Manager and Operations Manager.
- Leading weddings and events from enquiry to delivery.
- Supporting the Front of House operation during busy services.
- Meeting with Heads of Department daily to plan VIP arrivals, weddings, events and guest experiences.
- Coaching and supporting the team to deliver exceptional hospitality.
- Monitoring budgets, forecasting revenue and controlling costs.
- Ensuring every guest leaves with memories they'll tell their friends about.
Why you'll love working here
You won't find corporate scripts, endless meetings or layers of management.
Instead, you'll find:
- A family-run business where your ideas genuinely matter.
- A management team that encourages creativity and individuality.
- One of the most beautiful workplaces in Scotland.
- A business that's always evolving with exciting ideas and events.
- A role where every day is different.
- Opportunities to develop and grow with the wider Mhor Collection.
What we offer
- Competitive annualised salary.
- Weekly pay.
- Share of tips.
- 28 days holiday.
- Staff meals on duty.
- Generous discounts across the Mhor Collection.
- Ongoing training and development.
- Live-in accommodation available (£55 per week) or live-out option.
A few essentials
Because we're tucked away in glorious rural Perthshire, you'll need your own transport if living out, and ideally live within a 45-minute commute.
You'll also need the legal right to work in the UK.
Sound like your kind of adventure?
If you're ambitious, creative, commercially driven and believe hospitality is about creating stories rather than simply serving guests, we'd love to meet you.
Come and help us create unforgettable weddings, incredible events and magical moments in one of Scotland's most extraordinary hotels.
Join the Mhor family. Live the Mhor life.
