Are you a passionate food retail leader with a flair for presentation and exceptional customer service?

Location: Canterbury Chartham Garden Centre
Hours: 32 hours per week, with some weekend working expected
Salary: Competitive, depending on experience

We are looking for an experienced Farm Shop Manager to lead our Food Hall at Canterbury Chartham Garden Centre. This is a key management role, responsible for driving sales, maintaining exceptional standards, and delivering an outstanding food shopping experience.

The Role

As Farm Shop Manager, you will have full responsibility for the performance, standards, and team within the Food Hall, ensuring it is commercially successful, compliant, and visually inspiring.

Your Key Responsibilities Will Include:

Leading, motivating, and developing the Food Hall team to deliver outstanding customer service.
Driving sales, margin, and stock control in line with business targets.
Managing stock availability, ordering, waste, and stock rotation to maximise profitability.
Ensuring high standards of visual merchandising and product presentation.
Analysing sales performance and implementing actions to improve results.
Working closely with the Centre Management team to support overall business objectives.
Maintaining excellent standards of food safety, compliance, and hygiene.
Creating an engaging and welcoming shopping environment for customers.

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

An experienced food retail manager (farm shop, deli, supermarket, specialist food retailer).
Commercially minded, with strong stock, margin, and performance management skills.
Knowledgeable and confident around food safety, compliance, and hygiene standards.
A strong people leader who can inspire, coach, and develop a successful team.
Customer-focused, organised, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
Passionate about food retail and delivering an exceptional customer experience.
