Full job description

Job Overview
Starflight Aviation Ltd are looking for an Assistant Finance Manager to join a small team based in Farnborough, Hampshire. This role is Supporting the Finance Manager with day-to-day accounting activities as well as assisting the wider team, as necessary.

Successful candidates will have a strong foundation in finance and accounting principles, ideally with at least two years’ experience in a similar role. The ideal candidate will be organised, efficient, flexible, and capable of working independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced and changeable environment.

Duties

General accounts admin
Obtain approval, code, and post supplier invoices onto accounting system
Generate sales invoices from our bespoke client management system and post to accounting system
Prepare BACS runs for approval
Post daily bank receipts and payments to accounting system
Processing staff mileage and expenses
Processing company credit card expenses
Bank reconciliation (multi-currency)
Updating daily Exchange Rates on all systems
Monitoring daily communications and actioning/responding as needed
Filing
Further ad-hoc duties as required

Experience
The successful candidate will possess:

Proven experience in financial management, with a strong background in accounts payable and financial accounting
Confident user of Sage 50
Strong numerical and data entry skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
Excellent time management, multi-tasking and workload prioritisation skills
Experience working in a fast-paced finance department
Confident user of Microsoft Office packages (Word, Excel, Outlook). – (Essential)
Good understanding of double-entry bookkeeping (Beneficial)
A proactive, collaborative approach, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Multi-currency experience (Beneficial)
Must be able to meet Security Clearance requirements
Background checks will be carried out to include credit checks and 5-year work history

Benefits Package:

Death in Service: 4 x basic salary (up to age 75 and subject to reasonable/acceptable underwriting costs)
Permanent Health Coverage: Up to age 70 (subject to reasonable/acceptance underwriting costs)

STRICTLY NO AGENCIES

Pay: £30,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
