Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and dependable Bricklayer/Builder to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for constructing, repairing, and maintaining structures using various masonry and building techniques. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work on diverse projects, utilise a range of tools, and develop your skills within the construction industry. The position is paid and suitable for individuals committed to delivering high-quality workmanship in a safe and efficient manner.

Duties

Lay bricks, blocks, and stones to construct walls, foundations, arches, and other structural elements according to specifications and drawings.
Prepare surfaces by cleaning, levelling, and applying mortar or other adhesives.
Operate hand tools such as trowels, hammers, chisels, and levels to ensure precise work.
Use power tools including drills, saws, and mixers to facilitate building tasks.
Assist with carpentry tasks related to formwork or framework as required.
Perform roofing tasks including installing tiles or slates when necessary.
Engage in welding activities for specialised structural components when needed.
Collaborate with team members to ensure safety standards are maintained on-site.
Maintain a clean and organised work environment by clearing debris and storing tools properly.

Qualifications

Proven experience in bricklaying, masonry, or general building work is preferred.
Proficiency with hand tools and power tools used in construction environments.
Knowledge of bricklaying techniques, masonry principles, and building codes.
Ability to operate basic carpentry equipment and perform roofing tasks is advantageous.
Good physical fitness with the ability to lift heavy materials safely and stand for extended periods.
Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality workmanship.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment while adhering to health and safety regulations.

Must have CSCS AND DRIVING LICENSE

Pay: £16.00-£20.00 per hour
