Job Summary:
We are currently seeking an Extended Hours Access Health Care Assistant to join our team. In this part-time role, you'll be working evenings and weekends to help deliver PCN services to our patients. You'll be working under the direct supervision of our experienced EBPC nurse and following specific EBPC guidelines and protocols within the scope of your practice.
But that's not all! You'll also assist our clinical team in providing and delivering prescribed patient care programmes, including preventative care, health promotion and patient education. This means that you'll be making a real difference in the lives of our patients by helping them to maintain their health and wellbeing.

EBPC is a not-for-profit social enterprise providing a wide range of NHS Urgent and Primary Care services. East Berkshire Primary Care Out of Hours (EBPC), founded as a GP out-of-hours service in 1997, is now a provider of choice for Urgent and Primary care services, delivering high-quality, cost-effective care. Our 400-strong team of dedicated professionals deliver more than 20 independent services, including GP Practice,111 CAS, Out-of-Hours Primary Care, and PCN service delivery.

Duties and responsibilities:
· NHS health checks and new patient checks
· ECG recording
· Phlebotomy
· Assisting the Nurse with annual reviews; of hypertension, CHD, Stroke and Peripheral Arterial Disease.
· Undertake wound care, dressings and other clinical tasks as required under the supervision of the EBPC Nurse
· Chaperoning duties
· Processing and management of laboratory samples requested by GPs/nurses
· Sterilising, cleansing and maintenance of surgical equipment.
· Clearing and re-stocking consulting rooms
· Assisting in the assessment and surveillance of patients' health and wellbeing
· Undertaking specific clinical activities for named patients that have been delegated and explicitly taught concerning that individual
· Helping to raise awareness of health and wellbeing and how it can be promoted
· Assisting with the collection and collation of data on needs related to health and wellbeing
· Ensure clinical waste is removed from clinical areas and sharps bins replaced following the EBPC IPC policy.

Essential
- Healthcare qualification or equivalent level
- Phlebotomy certification

- Six months of relevant experience working in a primary care environment in the last two years
- Experience working with the general public
- Experience working in a healthcare setting

Health and Safety:

Infection Prevention and Control:
You will be expected to cooperate with colleagues, contractors, and other healthcare providers involved in patient care directly or indirectly so far as necessary to enable EBPC to meet its obligations under the Health and Social Care Act 2008.
