SON OF A STAG is seeking a Videographer / Editor to join our growing creative team. Shooting and editing video content across all our social media channels, you will be a key contributor to the team which defines our brand image worldwide. You will collaborate closely with our creative, marketing and eCommerce teams to deliver a continuous flow of video content that reflects the quality and heritage of our brand.
This is an in-person role that involves showcasing our carefully curated selection of brands and communicating expert product knowledge through engaging video content, particularly in Japanese selvedge denim, while upholding SOAS standards and values.
You will join a passionate and tight-knit creative team that celebrates heritage, vintage and Japanese denim in everything they produce. Our video content is often a new customer’s first experience of SON OF A STAG and heritage clothing in general. It is a powerful tool, not only for marketing but also to raise the profile of Japanese denim and heritage menswear across the industry as a whole.

The ideal candidate will have:
2+ years’ experience in content creation, videography, post production or similar.
Responsibilities:
- Tell the story of SON OF A STAG and its brand collections by shooting and editing a range of video content across a variety of different platforms. These include YouTube, TikTok and Instagram, as well as website assets and special projects for third-party partners.
- Manage the post-production of multiple long form deliverables across different target release dates on top of routine weekly social media content output.
- Pitch and develop ideas with the rest of the team to continuously improve the direction and output of content delivered by the brand.
- Research and write succinct and accurate short form scripts to support the team’s overall social media output.
- Adhere to and improve upon the look and feel of moving image across SON OF A STAG.
Production
- Experience with Sony Cinema Line Cameras as well as competent iPhone shooting.
- Good understanding of continuous lighting setups to maintain the luxury feel of the brand.
- Able to work professionally on set, set up lighting and other equipment safely and with respect to those in front of the camera.
- Maintain and ensure all equipment is secure are properly looked after
- Good understanding of Gimbal setup and operation.
Post Production
- A clean, fast editor, comfortable across video and audio in DaVinci Resolve.
- Experience recording audio on location and in studio environments.
- Light motion graphics (fusion experience preferred)
- Can demonstrate a fine knowledge of colour grading.
- Comfortable with Instagram Edits, TikTok and Capcut.
- Has good file management and administrative skills.
Storytelling & Development
- Good understanding of documentary storytelling, short form content and creating non-fiction narratives.
- Research fashion history, garment construction etc to script short-form and long-form video content.
- Is able to balance creative and aesthetic decisions with the commercial needs of the brand.
- Able to develop and adjust content, visual language etc in response to social media KPIs.
- Sophisticated knowledge of menswear, styling and culture.
Collaboration
Work closely with eCommerce, marketing and retail teams to deliver frequent and cohesive content. Manage time effectively and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Software
- High levels of competency with the following software:
- Davinci Resolve
- Capture One
- Photoshop
- CapCut
- Instagram Edits
The most competitive candidates will also have:
- Fashion photography and/or e-commerce photography experience
- Good understanding of Photoshop, and fashion retouching
- Shopify Creative Asset Management (for upload to live site)
- Understanding of video web compression (handbrake)
- Experience using Later to upload, schedule and extract data and KPIs to assess performance.
- Experience using Trello.
