Job Role – Loading Systems Project Manager
The purpose of the role is to manage the successful delivery of loading systems projects from initial planning through to completion. The role ensures projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to customer expectations, while providing leadership to engineering teams, maintaining stakeholder relationships, and driving operational performance, continuous improvement, and customer satisfaction.
Main Duties:
- Project Management: Manage multiple loading systems projects across commercial and industrial sites, ensuring delivery to agreed timescales, budgets, quality standards, and customer requirements.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Liaise with customers, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure the smooth planning and execution of projects.
- Site Surveys & Project Planning: Conduct site surveys, risk assessments, and prepare project documentation to support effective planning and project delivery.
- Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure all projects are delivered in accordance with relevant Health & Safety legislation, company policies, and safe working practices.
- Budget & Resource Management: Manage project budgets, monitor costs, and allocate resources effectively to ensure profitable project delivery.
- Team Leadership: Lead and support a team of Engineers, providing direction, motivation, and guidance to achieve high standards of performance and workmanship.
- Customer Relationship Management: Develop and maintain strong customer relationships by delivering excellent service, clear communication, and successful project outcomes.
- Performance Monitoring: Monitor project progress, identify and resolve issues, and provide regular updates to stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
- Training & Development: Identify training requirements within the team and coordinate appropriate development opportunities to support capability and performance.
- Continuous Improvement: Develop, implement, and communicate improved processes, policies, and procedures to increase efficiency, consistency, and customer satisfaction.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Promote effective communication and collaboration between business units and Loading Systems departments to support operational success.
Person specification:
- Project Management Experience: Proven experience managing projects within the industrial, engineering, construction, or related sectors.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of industrial doors, loading bay equipment, associated products, and installation processes is advantageous.
- Leadership Skills: Demonstrated experience managing and developing field-based engineering teams.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with customers, suppliers, and colleagues.
- Organisation & Planning: Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, budgets, and deadlines effectively.
- Problem-Solving Ability: Demonstrates a proactive and practical approach to problem solving and decision making.
- Commercial Awareness: Experience managing project costs, budgets, and resources to achieve profitable outcomes.
- IT Skills: Competent in Microsoft Office applications and project management software.
- Health & Safety Knowledge: Good understanding of Health & Safety legislation, risk management, and safe working practices.
- Qualifications: Industry-recognised project management qualifications and/or relevant engineering, electrical, or mechanical qualifications are advantageous.
- Driving & Mobility: Holds a full UK driving licence and is willing to travel as required.
- Self-Motivation: Self-motivated, hardworking, and committed to delivering excellent customer service and project outcomes.
