Building Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical / Plumbing)

Location: Harley Street Campus, London
Contract Type: Permanent, Full Time
Working Hours: Monday to Friday
Shift Pattern:

6:30am – 3:00pm
7:30am – 4:00pm
8:30am – 5:00pm

Rotating day shifts. Participation in an on-call rota is required (1 in 5).

We're looking for a Building Maintenance Engineer with a strong mechanical or plumbing background to join our Estates team. You'll play a key role in delivering a first-class maintenance service across our Harley Street Campus, helping to ensure our facilities remain safe, compliant and fully operational for patients, visitors and colleagues.

What you'll do:

Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across the estate.
Diagnosing and repairing faults on mechanical and plumbing systems.
Responding to emergency maintenance requests and prioritising urgent issues.
Working in line with Health & Safety, COSHH and hospital compliance standards.
Monitoring, auditing and maintaining building services equipment.
Supporting minor project works and planned improvements.
Liaising with and supervising specialist contractors when required.
Maintaining accurate maintenance records through the CAFM system.
Providing technical support and guidance to hospital staff.
Participating in the on-call rota and supporting fire safety requirements across the site.

What you'll bring

NVQ Level 2/3, City & Guilds or equivalent qualification in Plumbing or a relevant Mechanical discipline.
Previous experience within a commercial building maintenance or Hard FM environment.
Strong mechanical and plumbing maintenance fault-finding skills.
Good understanding of Health & Safety, COSHH and statutory compliance requirements.
Excellent communication skills with a proactive, customer-focused approach.
