Full job description

Working hours: 22 hours per per week

Monday – 13:00-18:30 (5.5hrs)

Tuesday – 14:00-20.00 - (6 hrs)

Thursday –14:00-18:30 (4.5 hrs)

Friday – 08:00-13.00 (5hrs)

1 Saturday per month 8-12pm

About Us

We are an established three site GP practice in and around Aylesbury; together, our whole team aim to improve the health of our patients, alongside enhancing their experience of patient care with a great family team ethos.

We’re looking for a warm, organised, and proactive Medical Receptionist to join our busy Wendover practice. As the first point of contact for patients, you’ll play a key role in making sure every visit runs smoothly – from greeting patients to managing appointments and supporting the clinical teams.

What you’ll be doing:

· Welcoming patients and visitors in a professional, friendly manner

· Answering phone calls and handling enquiries with care and confidentiality

· Booking, amending, and managing appointments using EMIS

· Supporting GPs and practice staff with administrative tasks

· Managing confidential patient records accurately

· Handling prescription requests and patient queries

We’re looking for someone who:

· Has great communication and interpersonal skills

· Is confident working in a fast-paced environment

· Is highly organised and IT literate (experience with medical systems is a plus)

· Brings a positive attitude and genuine care for patient wellbeing

· Has previous experience in a receptionist or administrative role (healthcare experience is ideal but not essential)

· Is able to multitask and stay calm under pressure
