Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and proactive Warehouse Operative to join our busy logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling materials, managing stock, and supporting shipping and receiving operations within a fast-paced warehouse environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with warehouse experience to develop their skills further and contribute to the efficient operation of our facilities.

Duties

Handling materials safely and efficiently, including loading and unloading goods from lorries and storage areas
Operating forklifts and other warehouse equipment in accordance with health and safety regulations
Managing stock levels using warehouse management systems (WMS) to ensure accurate inventory records
Picking, packing, and preparing orders for dispatch with attention to detail and quality standards
Stocking shelves and organising storage areas to optimise space utilisation
Assisting with shipping and receiving processes, including documentation and labelling
Conducting quality control checks on incoming and outgoing goods to maintain high standards
Performing mechanical tasks related to warehouse equipment maintenance as required
Ensuring the workspace remains clean, safe, and organised at all times

Requirements

Proven experience in a warehouse environment or similar setting
Knowledge of materials handling techniques and safety procedures
Valid forklift licence is highly desirable; training can be provided for suitable candidates without one
Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) or inventory software is advantageous
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently throughout the shift
Mechanical aptitude or knowledge of warehouse equipment maintenance is a plus
Strong organisational skills with an eye for detail in picking, packing, and quality control tasks
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
Flexibility to work in a physically demanding environment with standing, lifting, and moving items regularly
