Full job description

Job Overview

We are seeking a friendly and professional Bar Person to join our vibrant hospitality team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, preparing and serving drinks, and ensuring a welcoming atmosphere for all patrons. This role offers an engaging environment where you can develop your hospitality skills whilst contributing to a memorable guest experience. Previous experience in a bar or restaurant setting is preferred, but full training will be provided for the right candidate. A positive attitude, good organisational skills, and a passion for service are essential to thrive in this role.

Duties

Prepare and serve a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and food in accordance with company standards.
Greet customers warmly and take drink and food orders efficiently.
Ensure the bar area is clean, organised, and well-stocked at all times.
Handle cash and card transactions accurately using the point-of-sale system.
Maintain knowledge of menu offerings, including specials and promotions.
Adhere to food safety and hygiene regulations at all times.
Assist in setting up and closing down the bar area at the beginning and end of shifts.
Provide excellent customer service by engaging with guests professionally and courteously.
Manage time effectively during busy periods to ensure prompt service delivery.
Support team members as needed to ensure smooth operation of the venue.

Qualifications

Previous experience in hospitality, food safety, or serving roles is advantageous but not essential as training will be provided.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Good basic maths skills for handling transactions accurately.
Knowledge of food safety standards relevant to the hospitality industry.
Excellent communication skills with a friendly and approachable manner.
Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining high standards of service.
Experience working in a restaurant or bar environment is desirable but not mandatory.
Proven time management skills to prioritise tasks effectively during busy shifts.
Expected to work over 7 days/evenings and weekends christmas and bank Holidays
