HR & Recruitment Manager

Salary: £40,000–£45,000 per annum (depending on qualifications and experience)

Location: Clevedon, North Somerset, with regular travel across Bristol, Bath, North Somerset and surrounding areas.

About Us

Prestige Cleaning and Maintenance Ltd is a long-established commercial cleaning company providing high-quality cleaning services across the Southwest. We employ around 150 staff, including cleaners, site supervisors and management personnel, delivering services across a wide range of commercial premises.

We are looking for an experienced HR & Recruitment Manager to take ownership of all aspects of recruitment and human resources, ensuring we continue to attract, retain and develop the very best people.

The Role

This is a hands-on position that combines recruitment, employee relations and HR management. You will work closely with our Directors, Area Managers and Site Supervisors to support our workforce while ensuring compliance with employment legislation and company policies.

A significant part of the role involves visiting client sites to meet employees, conduct staff meetings, support managers and build strong working relationships across the business.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the full recruitment process for cleaners, site supervisors and management positions.
Produce engaging job adverts and manage recruitment campaigns.
Screen applications, interview candidates and coordinate offers and onboarding.
Build talent pipelines to support business growth and contract mobilisation.
Conduct inductions and probation reviews for new employees.
Provide professional HR advice to Directors and operational managers.
Manage disciplinary, grievance, absence and performance procedures.
Support employee wellbeing and engagement initiatives.
Visit commercial cleaning sites to conduct staff meetings, support supervisors and maintain strong employee relationships.
Assist with contract mobilisations, staffing restructures and TUPE transfers where required.
Ensure HR records, contracts and documentation remain accurate and compliant.
Monitor recruitment activity, staff turnover, absence levels and retention.
Identify opportunities to improve recruitment, retention and employee engagement.
Work closely with operational teams to maintain high staffing levels across all contracts.

About You

We're looking for someone who can confidently manage HR while understanding the operational challenges of a commercial cleaning business.

You will have:

Proven HR and recruitment management experience.
Previous experience within commercial cleaning, facilities management or another multi-site service industry.
Experience recruiting high volumes of operational staff.
Strong employee relations knowledge.
Excellent communication and people management skills.
Confidence dealing with employees at all levels of the business.
A practical, organised and solutions-focused approach.
Excellent administration and organisational skills.
Good knowledge of UK employment law.
Strong Microsoft Office skills.
A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to client sites.

Desirable

CIPD Level 5 qualification (or equivalent experience).
Experience managing a workforce of 100+ employees.
Knowledge of TUPE regulations.
Experience using HR or workforce management software.
Experience supporting ISO-accredited businesses.
