Job Description:

Are you a time-served CNC machinist who now programmes, plans and proves out your own work? (A milling background is preferable.)

Would you like a newly created senior role that is yours to shape, with one clear purpose: machines running, jobs planned, quoted times met?

Would you like to own job planning across our machine shop, so every job lands at the machine ready to run, first time? (Proven programme, workholding defined, tooling on site; no machine waiting on missing information.)

Would you like to programme in Fusion 360 and set the CAM standards the whole shop works to? (Experienced Mastercam or hyperMILL programmers willing to convert are very welcome.)

Would you like real authority, delegating planning tasks to our experienced team leads and building their skills as you go? (We back capability, and we promote it.)

Would you like a modern, well-invested machine shop with a strong ERP and scheduler already established? (We know when jobs need to run and what we quoted; what we need is the person who makes both happen.)

Would you like a salaried senior position with a predictable working week and an early finish every Friday? (We believe a steady, reliable income is key to planning your home life, and holidays.)

Key Tasks

Keep the machines cutting: plan jobs ahead of the production schedule and release them ready to run, with proven programme, defined workholding, tooling on site, and a complete job pack.
Make quoted times stick: prove out methods that achieve the quoted hours, and act on the gap when actual times drift from them.
Programme machining work in Fusion 360 and maintain our CAM standards.
Delegate planning tasks to team leads and skilled machinists, and grow their capability.
Standardise workholding and setups to cut changeover times.
Work with Purchasing on tooling and with Quality on first-off documentation (ISO 9001).

Please note: this is a hands-on planning and leadership role. It is not suitable for operators without programming experience, schedulers without machining backgrounds, or design-only candidates.

Current UK right to work is required; we cannot offer sponsorship.

Hours

Monday to Thursday 07:30 to 16:00, Friday 07:30 to 13:30.

Salary: £52,000 per year (starting salary).
