We are seeking a motivated, reliable Garden Maintenance Assistant to support our team in protecting, nurturing, and polishing our newly constructed projects.

Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated and reliable Garden Maintenance Assistant to join our team. This role involves supporting the upkeep and enhancement of various outdoor spaces, ensuring they remain healthy, attractive, and well-maintained. The ideal candidate will have a passion for gardening and horticulture, with a keen eye for detail and a proactive approach to landscape care. This paid position offers an excellent opportunity to develop practical skills within the gardening and landscape maintenance industry.

This role offers an engaging environment for those passionate about horticulture and outdoor work, providing valuable experience in landscape maintenance while contributing to beautiful outdoor spaces.

Responsibilities

Assist with general garden maintenance tasks including planting, pruning, weeding, and mulching.
Operate hand tools such as secateurs, spades, rakes, and hoes efficiently and safely.
Use power tools like hedge trimmers, lawnmowers, and leaf blowers to carry out routine maintenance.
Support irrigation system installation, repair, and regular watering schedules to ensure healthy plant growth.
Help with landscape enhancement projects by preparing soil beds and installing new plants or features.
Maintain cleanliness of work areas by removing debris and ensuring tools are stored properly after use.
Follow health and safety guidelines at all times to prevent accidents or damage during tasks.
Support team members in larger projects or specialised horticultural activities as required.

What We Are Looking For

Previous experience in gardening, horticulture, or landscape maintenance is desirable but not essential; on site training will be provided.
Plant identification/knowledge is advantageous.
Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and irrigation systems is advantageous.
A genuine interest in gardening, plant care, and outdoor environments.
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions with physical stamina for manual labour.
Good organisational skills with an organised approach to work tasks.
Ability to follow instructions carefully and work effectively as part of a team.
A valid driving licence is beneficial but not mandatory.
